Alaskans have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at accelerating the development of vast unconventional energy resources, including sticky oil and methane hydrates. The memorandum of understanding aims to improve the agencies' collaboration on research and development, as well as enhance information sharing, the Department of Energy said.

Glenridge Highlands One received LEED Gold, and 1040 and 1050 Crown Pointe Parkway received LEED Silver. Cornerstone has developed a solid waste management policy and partnered with Transwestern Sustainability Services to implement environmental cleaning programs, including training on the hazards, use, maintenance, disposal and recycling of cleaning products, TSS reports.
The George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas has become the first presidential library to receive LEED Platinum certification for new construction, the Dallas Morning News reports. The building has green roofs, solar panels for electricity and water heating, and a 15-acre park that recycles rainwater and uses heat-resistant plantings. Most building materials came from within a 500 mile radius.
